Knights of Columbus, Bishop Robert E. Tracy Council # 10080

Who are we?  What are we?

Officially chartered in 1882, the Knights of Columbus is a fraternal benefit society. The Order is still true to its founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity. The Knights charter was formed to render financial aid and other support services to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled, and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief, and public relief works.

The Knights of Columbus has become the world’s foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society. The Order has helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities.

The Knights of Columbus at St. John is starting to grow & prosper and is open to all men 18 years of age or older who are Practical, Practicing, Catholics.  For membership information please contact the parish, any current Knight, or  Robert Jordan at 225-658-0516 or 225-301-0034, or by email at jordar.70791@gmail.com.

Meetings held monthly on the first Sunday of the month following 6:30 AM KC Rosary and the 7:00 AM Mass. Meetings are held in Classroom 2 at St. John, although, we encourage all brother Knights to join us for all prayer and Mass events as noted above.

  • nformation needs to be added here, describing the structure and mission of the local council, our board make-up, perhaps a schedule of fixed annual evets, and any other pertinent information.

  • A membership plug is important, although, Form 100s must be completed in hard-copy and a Knight in good standing must sponsor the potential candidate.Perhaps a clear, concise Pro-Life Message here since this is one of our local chapter's cornerstones?

Knights of Columbus Memorial of the Unborn Brick Garden

Former Pastor, Father Kenneth Laird, sat in conversation with a number of parishioners one day after an All Saints Day dedication when an individual said, “Father, it’s a shame that once we take our family members to the cemetery, we hardly ever have the time to go back and visit them.”  Quick on his feet, Father Kenny replied, “Well, let’s just bring their memory right here so you can see them every time you come to Mass!”  Thus, the St. John’s Meditation Garden was born.

Although your family member or friend has left this temporary life, this special garden offers you and your family the opportunity to memorialize them forever and, as was mentioned, you have the chance to speak to them or pray with and for them every time you enter the church campus.

Memorial bricks can be inscribed with the name of an individual, a family member, an organization, for unborn babies, or even unknown persons, that they may reap the benefits of God’s mercy throughout eternity.
